Pvt member bill in RS for covering election expenses

Another bill with provision for simple solemnisation of marriages to check wastage of food and show of wealth, besides one providing for compulsory military training to all youth in the country were also introduced.

The Contesting Election on Government Expenses Bill, 2012, piloted by Prabhat Jha (BJP) aims at providing poll expenses to the recognised political parties and their official candidates for contesting elections to Lok Sabha, Legislative Assembly and local bodies.

The bill seeks to curb increasing use of black money in such elections.

Jha introduced another bill relating to constitution of a Special Price Control Authority to check rise in prices of commodities and services.

 

For identification and deportation of illegal foreign immigrants, Rajkumar Dhoot (Shiv Sena) introduced a bill that aims at setting up a national authority to handle such issues.

He also introduced another bill that seeks to provide protection to farmers from exploitation of money lenders, middlemen, unscrupulous traders and removal of indebtedness, among others.

BSP member Akhilesh Das Gupta introduced a bill with provision for simple solemnisation of marriages to curb wastage of food and show of wealth during such functions, while BJP member Avinash Rai Khanna's bill sought compulsory military training to all youth in the country.
