'PWD babus responsible if newly-built road gets damaged in MP'

Madhya Pradesh government under its Road Development Policy will hold official (s) concerned of PWD responsible in case a road gets damaged after its construction.

State PWD Minister Sartaj Singh today said if any newly laid road gets damaged post its construction, the official (s) who has prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the same will be held accountable, apparently for negligence.

"Concerned officials must ensure that they should prepare DPR for any road with utmost care to make it excellent and if needed should spend more on its preparation," Singh said while chairing a review meeting of the department.
 

After this if any road gets damaged after construction then the person who had prepared its DPR will be held responsible for it.

The Minister also expressed concern over slow pace of development of various projects and directed officials to speed up the process.

PWD Secretary Vijay Singh and other senior officials attended the meeting.
