PWD engineer, middleman arrested on graft charges

A Public Works Department engineer and a middleman were today arrested on charges of graft here.

Anti-Corruption Bureau sources said V K Gupta, executive engineer of the Public Works Department had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a contractor for passing his bills.

Gupta had made the demand through Mukesh Kumar.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team laid a trap and arrested the duo when they were accepting the bribe, ACB spokesperson said.
