Lokayukta Police today raided three premises of MP Public Works Department's sub engineer (SE) and claimed that the properties and wealth unearthed is disproportionate to his known sources of income.

"We received a complaint against SE Rajendra Sharma (51) that he has amassed a huge ill-gotten wealth. We raided his residence at Indrapuri area and two other places here and found that he owns three houses, one flat and four shops and two four wheelers among other things," Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dinesh Patel told PTI.

Besides, Rs 67,000 hard cash, 200 gram gold jewellery were also seized from Sharma's residence.

"We have got some proofs that the SE was a partner to three real estate companies dealing with building and selling residential apartments," Patel said.

It was found during investigations that Sharma holds 12 bank accounts and one locker.

"We are calculating the wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income," the DSP added.

He said that Sharma joined PWD as daily wager and rose to become SE after two promotions.

Patel said further investigations in the case are on.
