The 46-year-old director said he would step away from filmmaking after 60 and leave himself time to start a family, reported The Times.

"It's a good age to stop making movies - I could start writing novels and film criticism and become a man of letters, and then I could finally have a family," he said.

Tarantino, who in the past has dated actress Mira Sorvino and the director Sofia Coppola, is currently single, but would like to be a father one day.

"There was a time, about five years ago, when I did have baby fever, that I wanted to have a child. Now I still want to be a father, but I don't have baby fever. I want the work to be the most important thing," he said.

His upcoming film 'Django Unchained' is set to release this month.
