Four teachers of a private school in Hosur near here were today arrested for allegedly leaking the Math question paper of XII standard Board examinations, police said.

"We have arrested four (teachers) and they have been remanded in judicial custody," District Superintendent of Police P Kannamal told PTI.

On March 18, Mahendran, an invigilator for Class XII Board exam, had allegedly leaked the Math question paper minutes after the exam started through his phone via the mobile messaging application "Whatsapp", police said.

He had sent it from the examination hall to his three other teacher-colleagues Govindan, Udayakumar and one other.

On a complaint from District Educational authorities after a tip-off, all the four were arrested and produced before a court which remanded them to judicial custody.

They are teachers in a private matriculation school, police said adding further probe in the case is underway to find out the motive behind the leak of the question paper after the exam started.

The education authorities, however, said that mobile phones and other communication devices are not allowed in examination halls.
