R'sthan deploys ABB tech for clean solar power

Rajasthan has deployed ABB technologies, the leading power and automation technology group, for 40 per cent of clean solar power generated in the state, an official of the technology service provider company said.

The company has supplied solution for extraction and processing of ores in the mining sector.

Almost half of the state's cement plants run on ABB drives, automation and instrumentation solutions.

We have provided services to monitor and track supply at Jawai and Banswara water schemes apart from oilfield in Barmer, ABB managing director Sanjeev Sharma said here at a press conference.

He said that the state is set to take a quantum leap in solar energy with projections to double the capacity in the next two years to 5,000 MW.
 

The company's offerings include a range of solutions from solar inverters, turnkey substations and a variety of electrical equipment with comprehensive offering and local support, which help power huge solar parks in the state.

"Rajasthan is amongst the top three markets for the company, which enjoys the leadership position for solar inverter segment in India," Sharma said.

He further said that Rajasthan was blessed with a variety of mineral resources catalysing growth of industries.

As a partner of choice for electrical and automation systems and domain knowledge, the solutions provided by the company have been instrumental in increasing industrial performance across sectors by up to 15 percent, driving better quality, optimised raw material usage, lower energy and water consumption.
