To give a boost to marble, granite and handicraft exports, Rajasthan is likely to soon have an inland container depot in industrial town Bhiwadi and Sirohi district and a special notified zone at Jaipur International Airport for showcasing export products, said state industry minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat.

Shekhawat discussed the prospect with the Union minister of state for industry and commerce Nirmala Sitaraman with regard to starting such facility during a meeting in New Delhi.

The world is facing economic slowdown and in such a scenario, export is one such sector that can help reviving the slowdown, he said in a statement.

He urged the Centre to encourage state specific and sector oriented strategy instead of 'one size fits all' policy for increasing exports and give subsidy to exporters to bear the transportation cost to ports.

He said that research labs and certification bodies should be increased for agriculture, handicraft and textiles products that are exported from Rajasthan in large numbers.
