A 28-year-old woman, who had married a popular city-based radio jockey around two months back, today allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of a 10-storey residential building in Anandnagar area in the city, police said.
Victim Bhumi Desai had married RJ Kunal, who works at a private FM radio station here, in November last year, Anandnagar police inspector P V Jadeja said.
Bhumi committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of Sachin Tower near Shyamal Crossroad in the city, he said.

"Before coming to the spot, she had sent an SMS to one Mitesh Soni around 2 PM, stating that she is going to commit suicide at Sachin Tower and then she jumped off the terrace at around 2.30 pm," Jadeja said.
After learning about the incident, Mitesh, alongwith Bhumi's family members, rushed to the spot.
"They had got married on November 24 last year. Recently, they had been to Bangkok together and had come back on January 18," Jadeja said, adding "we have registered a case of accidental death and sent the body for post-mortem. We are yet to find out the exact reason behind her extreme step."
Meanwhile, one of her relatives told reporters that some differences had cropped up between the couple during their Thailand trip.
After that, she had reportedly stopped living at her husband's place and was staying with her parents.
"While her husband lives near Shivranjani Crossroads, her parents live in Shahibaug area," the police inspector said.
Her relative said, "Bhumi had come in contact with Kunal after winning a contest and decided to marry him...But, we learned that some differences had developed between them during their trip to Thailand. She also told his mother about it. But we don't know why she took this extreme step."
When asked whether differences between the newly-weds led to the suicide, police said they were yet to talk to Kunal and other family members about it.
"We are yet to record statements of Kunal and others. We will investigate as to what forced Bhumi to take the extreme step," he said.
Further investigation into the case is on.
