For generating interest in Mathematics among children, the National Council of Science and Technology Communication and All India Radio will start a radio programme that will focus on the work done by some eminent mathematicians.
'Magic of Numbers' will start on October 6 and will be aired in 19 languages from 117 stations across the country. The 26 episodes of the programme will tell about 23 geniuses of Mathematics.
The programme will be in the form of a docudrama and discuss various aspects related to life and work of mathematicians from ancient period to the present day.

"Two episodes have been dedicated to Srinivas Ramanujan highlighting his contribution to Mathematics," said Dr Bhanu Pratap Singh, a scientist with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The NCSTC and All India Radio have been producing several programmes focusing on chemistry, physics, astronomy.
"Our aim is to remove the fear of numbers from a child's mind. This can not only help him in his studies, but also in shaping his future," added Singh.
