Raghavan appointed Economic Relations Secretary in MEA

Senior IFS officer P S Raghavan has been appointed as Secretary (Economic Relations) in Ministry of External Affairs.

Raghavan, a 1979 batch officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS), is currently Special Secretary in the Ministry.

The vacancy was necessitated following superannuation of Pinak Rajan Chakravarty.

Dinkar Khullar, India's Ambassador in Brussels, has been appointed as Secretary (West), MEA, an official release issued today by Ministry of Personnel said.

Khullar, a 1978 batch IFS officer, will be responsible for looking after country's diplomatic affairs with the UK and other European countries.

The vacancy had come up after retirement of Sudhir Vyas, a 1977 batch IFS officer.
 

Anil Wadhwa, India's ambassador in Bangkok, has been appointed as Secretary (East) in the MEA.

Wadhwa, a 1979 batch IFS officer, will be looking after India's relations with countries like Japan and Russia.

Senior IAS officer Sudhir Mittal will hold additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers for a period from October 12 to 22, 2013.

He will hold the charge in absence on leave of Indrajit Pal, a 1977 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre.

Mittal, a 1978 batch officer of Punjab cadre, is Secretary, Department of Fertilisers.
