Rahman visits govt vocational higher secondary school

: It was a dream come true for students of the recently upgraded Goverment Vocational Higher Secondary School for girls in Nadakkavu here as Oscar winning composer A R Rahman made a brief visit to the school today.

Speaking at a function at the school, Rahman said music is universal and hence it is the right of every enthusiast to embrace it.

The school was recently upgraded under PRISM (Promoting Regional Schools to International Standards through Multiple Interventions) initiative conceptualised by the local MLA A Pradeepkumar, with the involvement of Faizal and Shabana Foundation, promoters of UAE-based KEF Holdings.

Rahman said he would like to find ways to collaborate with the school through the PRISM project in the school so that the students could get the opportunity to be trained by his K M Music Conservatory in Chennai.
 

Rahman was accompanied by his sister Fathima and music conductor Sreenivasamoorthy.

Among those spoke were Pradeepkumar.
