Rahul congratulates Amethi-native lyricist for IIFA award

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi today congratulated Amethi-native Manoj Muntashir for winning the Best Lyricist Award at the 2015 IIFA Awards in Malaysia.

According to Gandhi's representative Chandrakant Dubey, the Amethi MP spoke to Muntashir, who resides in Mumbai, over the phone and extended his best wishes to him.

He also asked Muntashir to use his gift with words not just for films but also for social causes, Dubey said.

Muntashir, who hails from a village in Amethi district, won the Best Lyricist Award for 'Galliyan' song from Bollywood film Ek Villain at the recently-held IIFA Awards.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who belongs to the royal family of Amethi, also congratulated the lyricist saying, "Manoj Muntashir has proved to be the real jewel of Amethi. He is a magician of words.
