Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today chaired a key strategy meeting of the party's leaders in Rajasthan in his bid to strengthen its prospects for next year's state assembly elections.

Among those who attended the meeting were Congress's general secretary in-charge of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, who has been just assigned the task, besides state unit president Sachin Pilot.

"Had a good meeting with senior leaders and MLAs from Rajasthan earlier today," Gandhi later tweeted.

During the meeting Gandhi asked Congress members to reach out to the people and highlight the failures of the Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government, sources said.

The Congress vice president also asked them to present an alternative model of governance to the people, as he sought to gauge the party's poll preparedness, they said.
