Fashion designer Rahul Mishra has become the winner of the International Woolmark Prize (IWP) 2013/2014 during the final awards event held at the Triennale Museum, Milan.

Mishra, who represented India and the Middle East, was judged by international fashionistas Frida Giannini, Franca Sozzani, Tim Blanks, Colette Garnsey, Angelica Cheung, Alexa Chung and representatives from the global IWP retail partners.

"I congratulate Rahul on winning the International Woolmark prize, and it is indeed a proud moment for FDCI and India. Winning this prize has not come easy with the stiff competition from designers from all over the world," said Sunil Sethi, President Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).

The Delhi based designer designer was awarded for craftsmanship and embroidery in his collection titled 'The Lotus Effect'. His collection portrayed the journey of the human race and the process of metamorphosis that our planet has undergone in the past century.
