Rahul to address rally in Yavatmal on April 4

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will address a public rally here on April 4 as part of his election campaign in Maharashtra.

The rally will he held at the Postal Ground and preparations for the event are on, Yavatmal District Congress Committee (YDCC) President and MLA Wamanrao Kasawar said at a press conference here this evening.

The meeting has been scheduled around noon. Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and MPCC President Manikrao Thakre, among others, are likely to attend it, he said.

The rally has been organised in support of Shivajirao Moghe, the Congress-NCP candidate from Yavatmal Lok Sabha seat in Vidarbha region.
 

On Sunday last, BJP's Prime Ministerial nominee Narendra Modi addressed two rallies in Vidarbha -- in Amravati and Akola -- where he mainly raised farmer-related issues.
