Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police today raided residential and official premises of an executive engineer working with Road Construction Department (RCD) and unearthed assets worth Rs 1.5 crore.
The total salary earned by engineer Lakshmikant, currently posted at Hilsa in Nalanda district, since the beginning of his service is around Rs 60 lakh.
Giving details about the operation to reporters, Additional Director General (ADG) police headquarters, Ravinder Kumar said, "The engineer has a luxurious house at Bahadurpur in the state capital. It is spread over 2,200 square feet and has been conservatively estimated to be worth Rs 59 lakh."

The RCD engineer has a flat in his wife's name at Nutan Amarkunj Apartment at posh Boring Road in the state capital, valued at Rs 39 lakh. Documents showing two kathas of land worth Rs 8 lakh have also been recovered.
As far as the movable assets belonging to Lakshmikant are concerned, the raiding teams discovered bank balance, cash, jewellery, household gadgets and two automobiles, together valued at Rs 43 lakh.
EOU Inspector General Praveen Vashista said, "The disproportionate assets belonging to the executive engineer is expected to increase. Our men have recovered documents related to many other bank accounts.
