The police today arrested 36 persons after raiding various places under Uluberia police station as a preventive measure in the run up to the coming civic polls.
The police said 600 litre of country liquor was seized and 19 illegal country liquor units at Madai village were destroyed.
A loaded one shotter was also seized during the raid, the police said.
