The newly-renovated National Rail Museum here will be the biggest tourist attraction in the capital, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today said.

Spread over 11 acres, the NRM has been renovated at an estimated cost of Rs 24 with additions of many attractions like miniature train, indoor gallery, simulators, rail garden and rail restaurant.

"It has been made in a magnificent way. It is a great place to visit with family," Prabhu said after inaugurating the redone facility.

He said a rail museum is a place to reminisce about the past and how to face the challenges of the future.

"Railways is a byproduct of industrialisation and since then railways has grown by leaps and bound. This is history now. But now there are challenges before railways. Financial challenge, technological challenge, managerial challenge. We need strategy to face the new challenges, he said.
