Rail traffic disrupted as freight train derails

Rail traffic on Gorakhpur-Paniyahwah route was today disrupted when eight bogies of a freight train derailed after colliding with another goods train at Ghughali railway station.

The freight train from Damoh to Sitamarghi collided with another stationary goods train around 2 AM, Station Master Pramod Kumar Singh said.

He said that eight bogies of the train derailed in the accident.

Singh said that the signal for the incoming train was red and probably the driver dozed off.

He said that the track was badly damaged in the accident due to which train movement on the route has been disrupted and would take atleast two days to resume.
 

Meanwhile, Divisional Railway Manager of Varanasi Ajay Vijayvargiya said that a probe has been ordered.
