Rail traffic on Vijayawada-Chennai section restored

With rain-ravaged Chennai limping back to normal, the railway traffic on the Vijayawada-Chennai section has been restored and trains are running as per schedule, a senior Railway official said.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division (South-Central Railway), K Venugopal Rao, Division told PTI today that entire traffic is restored on Vijayawada-Chennai section from late night.

The trains are running as per schedule to Chennai, he said.


Only a few long distance trains originating from either New Delhi or Howrah (West Bengal) stands cancelled due to rake management, the official said, adding, trains would restored by Monday.
