Railway driver arrested for leaking question paper

A Railway driver and a retired employee were detained today along with about 40 examinees for allegedly leaking the question paper for the Railways group D staff examination.

Adra division assistant loco driver J P Gupta and a retired Railway employee were apprehended from a hotel in Jagacha in Howrah district by Railway Vigilance personnel along with the local police, chief public relations officer, South Eastern Railway Soumitra Majumdar said.

Forty examinees were also detained and were mostly youths from Adra and Purulia areas of West Bengal.

Majumdar said Rs 4.63 lakh unaccounted money, a fax machine and a laptop besides 71 mobile phones were seized from the duo.
 

The examination, planned for tomorrow, will be held as per schedule, he said, adding that CBI and police would be requested to inquire into the issue.
