Railway guard stabbed in robbery incident

A railway guard was stabbed and robbed by some unidentified persons in Anand Vihar area of east Delhi last night, police said today.

The incident took place when the victim, identified as Vishram Meena, whose condition is stated to be serious, along with his colleague, Brijesh Kumar, headed towards a food stall near the Anand Vihar railway complex through a short route.

Three unidentified men approached them pointing a knife and asked them to hand over their belongings. While Kumar gave his purse to the men, Meena refused, over which they stabbed him and fled the spot after snatching his purse containing their documents and Rs 2,000.
 

Meena is posted with the Tundla sub-division in north-central railway and works as a guard with a mail train.

A case of armed robbery has been registered at the Madhu Vihar police station and investigation is on, a police official said.
