Railway has made tremendous progress under PM Modi: Sinha

Minister of state for Railways Manoj Sinha today said that the railways has made tremendous progress under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"While earlier the investment in the Railways was only 48 thousandcrores, last year it was one lakh crores and the target for the nextyear is 1.25 lakh crores," Sinha said.

The railways have prepared a rail map for the next three years. A pilot project of running the Goods train as per time table is on. By 2020 the goods trains would also run according to the time table, he said while inaugurating escalator facility at Mathura Junction.
 

"While TEJAS would run at a speed of 130 Kms hour, double decker Udai would reduce traffic congestion," Sinha said.

Declaring that long distance trains cannot be stopped at every station he said "in the next two years a network to counter all the problem related to Railways would be ready."

He announced that rail bus between Mathura and Vrindaban would start running within two months and 400 station would be upgraded.

"Mathura junction which is frequented by pilgrims would also be upgraded." he said adding "I cannot say about the past announcements but the upgradation of Mathura junction would be translated into a reality".
