Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, elected unopposed from Andhra Pradesh to the Rajya Sabha, today offered prayers at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala here.
He arrived here on a thanksgiving visit to the shrine last evening and after overnight stay on the hills, visited the shrine this morning, TTD Chairman Chadalavada Krishna Murthy said.
After worship, the Minister was presented with a sacred silk cloth and holy prasadams by the TTD Chairman.
Later Prabhu also visited the shrine of Goddess Sri Padmavathi at nearby Tiruchanur, he added.
