Bansal, who was accompanied with several senior officials, including Ambala Divisional Railway Manager P K Sanghi, took round of the railway station, which is a main junction for changing tracks to various destinations including Delhi, Ludhiana and Saharanpur.
Later, talking to reporters, he said that the construction of a water bottling plant here would be started soon.
The Union minister said that the single railway track between Ambala Cantt and Dappar on the Ambala Chandigarh section would soon be converted into a double section.
Referring to the pending project of laying new rail line between Naraingarh- Panchkula, Bansal said the Railway ministry had written a letter to Haryana government for the consent of its financial support in the project.
