The Special court for CBI cases today convicted a Southern Railway officer in a bribery case and sentenced him to three year Rigorous Imprisonment.
The Special Judge M M Krishnan also imposed a fine of Rs two lakh on the Sub-Divisional Engineer P V Reddy, an official release stated here.
The Anti Corruption Branch of CBI, Chennai, registered a case against Reddy, Sub Divisional Engineer, Southern Railway, Tiruchirapalli in 2008 based on a complaint that he had abused official position and demanded a bribe of Rs one lakh from a person to show certain official favours.

On completion of trial, Reddy was convicted and sentenced to three years RI. A fine of Rs two lakh was also slapped on him.
The court has further ordered confiscation of Rs two lakh that was seized from his residence, which was proven as ill-gotten money.
