Two persons were today arrested at Kanpur Central station for allegedly operating a gang in robbing railway passengers, police said.
Sixteen mobile phones and 110g of drug were also recovered from their possession, Government Railway Police official said.
The thugs were nabbed at a platform where the railway police were conducting a check. On suspicion, the officials approached the two accused, following which they tried to run from the spot, they said.

Deepak Soni and Devendra Kumar Mishra, who were wanted in other railway robbery cases, were nabbed by the police in a brief chase, they said.
The two accused confessed that they used to intoxicate the passengers with the drug and looted valuables like mobile phones from their possession. Later, they sold those in the market, police added.
Soni and Mishra were wanted for other cases of robbery with the railway passengers, and there are many more people working in the gang, police said.
Both the accused have been arrested and the investigation is on in the matter, they said.
