Railwaymen participate at yoga sessions across country

Several Railway employees today participated at the yoga sessions organised at various railway zones across the country on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

While Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu participated at a yoga camp at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi, Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha attended yoga session in Gaya.

Railway Board Chairman A K Mital along with several senior officials participated in one and half hour long yoga session at the Rail Bhawan here.

A yoga expert conducted the session which was attended by about 150 officials, said a senior ministry official who had participated in the event in the morning.
 

Northern Railway employees have also organized the yoga event which was attended by General Manager A K Puthia and other senior zonal officials.

According to a Northern Railway official, yoga sessions were organised at all diesel sheds, EMU car sheds and running rooms (rest rooms for railway drivers and guards) across the zone which were attended by many employees.

He said a yoga expert from Patanjali has come to help employees doing yoga here.

Incidentally, railways have made yoga mandatory at all 295 training centres in the country.
