Railways join hands with Slovak for infrastructure upgradation

To modernise the signalling system and rolling stock, railways has joined hands with the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic.

We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Slovak Republic on technical cooperation in rail sector, a senior Railway Ministry official said today.

Station development, modernisation of telecom, workshop, infrastructure building and management, information and communication technologies especially for passenger amenities are other areas for cooperation as part of the MoU which was signed yesterday by Railway Board Secretary Ganga Ram Agarwal and Slovak Ambassodor Zigmund Bertok.

The MoU will be operational for two years and it will be automatically renewed for further successive period of two years at a time.
