Railways move to final round of Santosh Trophy

Railways moved into the final round of the 69th National Football Championship Santosh Trophy 2015 after it held Odisha in a goalless draw in the last Group B league engagement of the East Zone round at JRD Tata Sports complex here today.

Both the teams went all out right from the kick off and exhibited attacking game but failed to score in either half of the match.

They kept attacking each other camps at regular interval and even made close moves but missed the target on each occasion.

Railways, which had topped the point chart with six points from two wins, accumulated total seven points from this match while Odisha, which had four points from one win and a draw, gathered total five points.
 

Earlier, Bengal qualified for the next round defeating Jharkhand from Group A.

The final round of the championship will be held at Goa from February 20 to March 10.

In another match of the group, Sikkim defeated Chattisgarh 5-0 to complete the formality as both the teams were out of the contest on the basis of points.
