Light to moderate rains accompanied by thundershowers today lashed parts of Uttar Pradesh, even as the temperatures varied across the state.
According to MeT office, day temperature rose in Allahabad division and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
It was markedly above normal in Faizabad division, appreciably above normal in Varanasi, Allahabad, Kanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad divisions, above normal in Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Jhansi divisions and normal in Agra division.
The highest maximum temperature was 42.6 degrees Celsius recorded at Etawah.
MeT office, in a forecast, said rain or thundershowers would occur at isolated places over the state during next 24 hours.
