Rain brings some respite from heat wave in coastal AP

There was some respite from the heat wave for the locals as rainfall occurred at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

While 3 CM rainfall was recorded at Araku Valley in Visakhapatnam district, dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema, Y K Reddy, Director in-charge, IMD said in a statement here today.

There was appreciable fall in maximum temperatures at one or two places over Rayalaseema and coastal AP. They were above normal at one or two places over coastal AP and appreciably above normal at many places over Rayalaseema, it added.

The maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jangamaheswarapuram, Anantapur, Kurnool and Nandyal, the statement said.
