It started raining in most parts of the Valley including Srinagar this evening providing relief to people experiencing hot and humid conditions since August 16.

The maximum temperature hovered around 33 degrees celsius in Srinagar.

Special prayers for rains were held yesterday in most parts of the Valley as the prolonged dry spell this summer had caused concern among the farming community.
