Press Trust of India Chennai
DMK Treasurer M K Stalin today accused the Tamil Nadu government of not taking preventive measures to tackle rains and flood despite warning by the Meteorological department.

"People are angry because the AIADMK government did not take any preventive measure in spite of early warnings by the Meteorological department," he alleged in a Facebook post after visiting rain and flood ravaged Cuddalore District.

Condoling the death of more than 30 persons in the district, he demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to their families and protection to farmers who have lost their crops in the rains that lashed the state in the past few days.

There were potholes in recently laid roads and many villages waterlogged and in darkness due to electricity failure, he said asking Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to tour the affected areas.
