Light to moderate rains lashed few places in Punjab and Haryana today, but maximum temperatures hovered couple of notches above normal levels.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, was lashed by 18.9 mm of rains during the day and the maximum temperature here settled at 34 deg C, the MeT office said.
Hisar in Haryana had a hot day at 36.7 deg C, up two notches, despite being lashed by 14 mm of rain.

Karnal registered a high of 31 deg C while Bhiwani, which received 15 mm of rains, recorded a maximum of 35.2 deg C, up two notches.
Ludhiana in Punjab recorded a high of 34.7 mm and 9 mm of rainfall while Patiala's high settled at 34.6 deg C, up one notch, with heavy downpour of 47 mm lashing the town.
Amritsar's maximum was recorded within the normal level at 34.2 deg C, the MeT office said.
More rains have been forecast in the region during the next two days.
