Rain lashes few places in Punjab and Haryana, temp below

Rain lashed a few places in Punjab and Haryana today as the maximum temperature hovered at below normal levels in both the states.

The maximum temperature remained below normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said here.

While Ambala experienced the maximum temperature at 31.9 degrees celsius, one notch below normal, the maximum temperature at Ludhiana was 31.7 degrees celsius, two notches below normal.

The maximum temperature in Amritsar was 33.4 degrees celsius, one degree celsius below normal after 1.8 mm of rainfall.

Mercury in Patiala, Hisar, Karnal and Chandigarh settled at 30.9 degrees celsius, 30.5 degrees celsius, 30 degrees celsius and 30.6 degrees celsius, upto six notches below normal.
 

While Hisar got drenched under 26.7 mm of rainfall, Karnal received light showers with two mm of rainfall.

According to a MeT forecast, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers at many places in Punjab and Haryana are likely during the next 24 hours.

The MeT has warned of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Haryana.
