The humidity level was up to 95 per cent at several places in Punjab and Haryana, the Met office said here.
While Rohtak in Haryana was drenched by 36 mm of rains, Ludhiana in Punjab received 30 mm of rainfall. Besides, Ambala had seven mm of rainfall.
Rain water inundated low-lying areas in the region and also affected celebrations of Eid at a few places.
Meanwhile, the Met office has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall at several places in the region during the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature in the region remained up to three points below normal at many places.
While the day temperature in Hisar settled at a high of 35.4 degrees celsius, three points above normal, the maximum at Rohtak was 35.2 degrees celsius, one notch above normal.
Among other places, Narnaul recorded a high of 34 degrees celsius followed by 33.3 degrees celsius in Patiala, 33 degrees celsius in Ludhiana, 32.5 degrees celsius in Ambala, 32 degrees celsius in Amritsar, three points below normal, and 31.6 degrees celsius at Chandigarh.
