Rain lashes several parts of HP

Moderate to heavy rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh as monsoon remained normal in the region.

However, maximum temperatures rose by few notches in lower and mid-hill regions of the state.

Guler and Baldwara were wettest in the state with 71 mm rains while Kheri and Sundernagar received 46 mm and 43 mm of rains respectively followed by Jogindernagar 40 mm, Ambala 38 mm and Manali 12 mm.

Una was hottest in the region with maximum and minimum temperatures at 34.8 deg Celsius and 22.8 deg Celsius while Manali was at 25.2 deg C, Shimla at 22.9 deg C and Kalpa at 23.6 deg Celsius, 2 to 3 deg C above normal.
 

Minimum temperatures dropped marginally by one degree Celsius at some places and Kalpa and Keylong in the tribal districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti were coldest in the region with a low of 13.8 deg C and 13.2 deg C.

The local MeT office has predicted rain and thundershowers at several places during next 72 hours.
