Rain likely in Punjab, Haryana over next 2 days

Hot conditions persisted in most parts of Punjab and Haryana even as the weatherman said rain or thundershowers may occur in the region over the next two days.

Patiala was the hottest place in the region today at 39.5 degrees Celsius.

Several places recorded the maximum temperature near the 40-degree mark, including Hisar which had a high of 39.2 degrees Celsius and Ludhiana at 38.9 degrees Celsius.

Ambala braved a hot day at 38.7 degrees Celsius. Karnal recorded a maximum of 38.4 degrees Celsius, Chandigarh 38.2 and Amritsar 38.1.

The MeT office warned of a thunderstorm and squall, with the wind speed exceeding 45 Kmph at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
