The tribal areas and higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh witnessed intermittent snowfall while the mid and lower hills of the state received rains leading to drop in mercury.
Pooh and Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district received 8 cm and 4 cm of snow respectively, while Khadrala received 1 cm of snow. Rains lashed parts of Kinnair and Shimla district. Sarahan gauged 14 mm of rainfall and Reckong Peo received 2 mm of rains.
Minimum temperatures decreased by 1 to 2 degrees and Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti was coldest at night at minus 2.7 degrees Celsius while by Kalpa recorded a low of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius.

The local MeT office has predicted rain and snow at isolated places in mid and higher hills on February 9 and 10.
