Delhiites experienced a pleasant day today with showers bringing day temperatures down by a notch as people welcomed the much-needed respite from humid conditions.
However, the rainfall was once again attended by the perennial problem of waterlogging, which significantly reduced the speed of vehicles on roads and led to long traffic jams.
"The maximum temperature dropped by a notch to settle at 32.7 degrees Celsius while the humidity in air hovered between 75 to 95 per cent.
"The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.7 degrees," the MeT department said.
Rainfall of 1.3mm was recorded in the city between 8.30 A.M. And 5.30 P.M., MeT sources added.
Traffic jams were reported at several areas such as Dhaula Kuan, Badarpur-Mahipalpur road, ITO, South Extension, Laxmi Nagar, Janakpuri, Azadpur, Bhawal and Okhla, Mukarba Chowk due to waterlogging.
There were also reports of uprooted trees lying on the roads, leading to huge traffic jams.
The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy skies with light rain or thundershowers tomorrow.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain around 33 and 27 degrees, respectively.
