Bihar today got off to a wet start with light to moderate rains lashing the capital and other parts of the state for the second consecutive day, bringing much needed relief to the heat stricken people.
According to a bulletin released by the Meteorological Department (MeT), the north and south eastern parts of the state received light to moderate rainfall which brought down the temperature.
Bhagalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius followed by Gaya at 37.5 degrees Celsius, it said.

Purnea registered a maximum of 32.5 degrees Celsius while the state capital, Patna, stood at 32.4. Patna also recorded 1.4 mm of rainfall, the bulletin said.
The MeT department forecast partly clouded sky with possibilities of rain, thundershower and dust storm.
