Rains bring down day temperature in Himachal Pradesh

Rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh leading to sharp fall in day temperatures, even as the local meteorological department warned of thunderstorm accompanied with squall at isolated places in mid and lower hills of the state tomorrow.

Gohar was the wettest in the region with 115 mm of rains while, Gaggal and Sundernagar recorded 51 mm and 49 mm of precipitation respectively.

Banjar received 46 mm of rains, followed by Bijahi 45 mm, Kotkhai 30 mm and Jogindernagar, and Bhoranj each 24 mm.

The day temperatures in Una dropped from 41.2 degrees Celsius to 36.7 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar recorded a high of 34.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Nahan 33.1 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 30.2 degrees Celsius, Solan 29.4 degrees Celsius and Shimla 25.9 degrees Celsius.

 

Night temperatures stayed close to normal and Manali was coldest with a low of 11.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Kalpa 12.2 degrees Celsius, Keylong 12.4 degrees Celsius and Shimla 15.2 degrees Celsius.
