Rains bring partial relief from heatwave in Raj

The maximum temperature plummeted to few degrees Celsius in Rajasthan today after rainfall lashed most of the places in the state.

Moderate to light rainfall was witnessed at some places in Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions. Few places in Ajmer and Jaipur also registered light rainfall.

"Till 8.30 am, 2 cm rainfall each in Malsisar, Nokha, Pilani and Churu was recorded, whereas Sriganganagar, Ramgarh and Jodhpur registered 1 cm rains each," the MeT said.

Kota witnessed a high of 43 degrees Celsius, followed by 42.2 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 40.8 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, 39.8 degrees Celsius in Dabok, 39.6 degrees Celsius in Jaipur, 39.1 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, 38.5 degrees Celsius in Ajmer, 38.3 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur, 37.8 degrees Celsius in Churu, 37.1 degrees Celsius in Pilani and 36.3 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar.
 

The MeT department has predicted light rains at few places with gusty winds in the next 24 hours.
