Rains damage wheat crop in UP

Unseasonal rains and duststorm have damaged more than 2,000 quintals of wheat crop kept in the open in mandi premises at Shamli, officials said today.

"More than two thousands quintals of wheat was purchased from the farmers by the government and was kept in the open. Yesterday, rains and dustrom damaged it," Sub-divisional magistrate Gyan Prakash said.

The region was lashed by rains yesterday.
