A woman was today killed and two others were injured in lightning in Sahibganj district even as Palamau and Jamshedpur remained the hottest places in Jharkhand with 40.8 degree C and 40.1 degree C respectively.
The three women were standing under a tree at Maharajpur to protect themselves from rain when lightning struck them, killing one on the spot and injuring the other two, a police official said.
Hailstorm hit Lohardaga, destroying vegetables and other agriculture produces across large stretches of land, officials said.
Ranchi received 0.2 mm rainfall as the day remained overcast, a MeT official said.
Elsewhere, the maximum temperature remained between 36 and 39.5 degree C, the official said.
Forecast for the next 24 hours is partly cloudy sky with likely rain or thundershower at some places, he said.
