Rains in coastal and interior Odisha

Most parts of the coastal and interior Odisha today received a good amount of rainfall and the meteorological centre here has predicted heavy rainfall in the state in the next three days.

While the highest rainfall of 84 mm was recorded at Chandbali in Bhadrak district, it was followed by 74 mm rainfall in Dhenkanal during the last 12 hours.

Cuttack received 31 mm of rainfall, while in Bhubaneswar it was 11.6 mm during the time, met office sources said.

The cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal now lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, a bulletin issued by the IMD said.
 

"Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in north and south Odisha under its influence," it said.

Rainfall reports were also received from Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Nabarangpur and Khordha districts.
