The capital Delhi recorded a maximum of 32.9 degrees celsius, one degree less than the normal, and a minimum of 27.1 degrees celsius, one notch higher than the usual.

The city received around 4.5 mm of rain since last night.

Moderate to rather heavy rains and thundershowers occurred at many places over western UP and at a few places over eastern UP.

Moth, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Mauranipur, Katerniaghat, Robertganj, Churk, Jaunpur, Lalganj, Jhansi, Mahroni, Garotha, Atrauli and Mawana received rainfall, the Met office said.

It said rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over western UP and at a few places over eastern UP.

 

According to Central Water Commission sources, rivers Sharda at Palia Kalan, Ghaghra at Elgin Bridge, Ayodhya, Turtipar, Rapti at Balrampur and Burrhi Rapti at Kakrahi were still flowing above the danger mark.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh today said that release of water by Nepal into rivers originating from there was the major cause of flood-like situation in the state and the matter would be taken up with the neighbouring country.

"The flood-like situation in the area on Friday last was because of Nepal releasing water into the rivers without informing and in order to find a permanent solution to it, the issue would be taken up with the neighbouring country...If required the Centre would be requested to play the role of intermediary", state minister for Irrigation, Shivpal Singh Yadav, told reporters.
