Rains in parts of Rajasthan, more expected on Friday

Parts of Rajasthan recorded 3 to 9 cm rainfall in the last 24 hours, a MeT official said on Thursday.

From Wednesday to Thursday evening, Raniwara of Jalore recorded 9 cm rainfall followed by Chittorgarh (8 cm), Sayla of Jalore (7 cm) and Badesar of Chittorgarh and Phalodi of Jodhpur (6 cm each), he said.

Various other places in the state recorded 2 to 5 cm rainfall during the period, the MeT official said.

On Thursday, Jaisalmer recorded 6.6 mm rainfall followed by 1.4 mm in Kota and light showers occurred in Sri Ganganagar district, he said.

The MeT department has predicted heavy rainfall in Banswara, Baran, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sirohi, Udaipur and Jalore districts in the next 24 hours.
